📝 Meet at the Boat Shed to sign-on & work out teams | Clovelly SLSC vs Clovelly Eskimos.

🏊🏻‍♀️ The relay is 33 yards across the Bay and is open to all Club members including Nippers and registered parents and it is a really fun event! Who will take out this year’s Shield?

🥂 The Tom Caddy Room will open from 12:00 so please come up for a post-relay toast to remember Dave Murray.

“David Murray was a much loved and respected long term member of both the Surf Club and Eskimos.

He grew up across the Bay and was a great all around sportsman who represented both Clubs with distinction over many years. He collected medals in Surf Teams events at Metropolitan Titles & won Gold in the Australian Over 50’s Relay in 1993 for the Eskies.

David was President of both Clubs and was the inaugural president of the Winter Swimming Association of Australia. He later became a life member of both Clubs.

He was well travelled but you know what they say about Clovelly boys…and was renowned for always being the centre of attention at any party and enjoyed nothing more than catching up with family & friends for a few down at the Clovelly Hotel or in the Surf Club on a Sunday. David’s close mates included other well known & respected dual Club members Bob Callaghan, Peter Gleeson, John Pelling, Warwick Charge, Syd D’Ornay and Garry Stubbs. David passed away unexpectedly in 2007 but his legacy lives on with both sons Stuart & Chris being members of both Clubs and their kids all being members of Clovelly Nippers".
